| Sgt Petter.. ..is a 27 year old musician from Bergen, Norway. He used to be singer and guitarist with the local power pop band Velouria. Velouria split up in the Summer of 2000. After almost two years without a band Petter started recording stuff on his own. Well, not exactly on his own. His good friend, and Brian Wilson-lookalike, Bjare helped with the engineering in his own little loftstudio. The recordings were meant for an EP Petter planned to put together and release on his own. After two tracks were done a friend played his songs to Hans Petter Gundersen. He was overwhelmed by what he heard and wanted to record more stuff with Petter in his Gjøa Studio. So they did. The Norwegian radio station NRK Petre picked up the demos and put the songs on air. In May 2002 Petter signed his first ever record deal with a new local label called New Records. The guys behind the label are Hans Petter and Kato Ådland, who produced Petter's first record simply called "It's A Record". If you run to your nearest record store (in Norway that is) on January 27th 2003(or after) and get yourself a copy, Petter will be more than happy.
